Sadly, Pitstop passed away in her sleep, the evening of May 23rd 2008
| Hi there! My name is Lucky (although I've been nick-named Pitstop). I am 14 years old - shhh. |

I'm jet black bar my one white whisker, and a tiny splash of white on my chest... Oh, and I have gorgeous green eyes. |
| I came to live with my new human family through "9 Lives" cat rescue. | ![]() |
Click on the 9 Lives logo, and see the great work they do for us "not so perfect" (huh!) moggies.... They're a charity. |
| I've had a good look around my new home, and I've found some great places to hide.... I also like to sit by a windowsill and watch the world go by (okay, I like to watch the birds outside in the trees). |
|
But then, nothing beats jumping up onto a lap, and getting plenty of fuss. I tend to start purring before I've even landed! |
| I also love my little treats, and my new human family seem to come up with the goods often enough. Although, as a cat, I don't do "begging"... but then again.... |
|
... if there's a scrap of chicken going.... waste not, want not (oh, the humiliation). |
| Meow to all, Lucky (aka Pitstop) |
Summer, 2007
Well, I’ve been with my new folks for nearly a year now, and I can safely say: I am the boss - tehehe.
I have found the most comfy places to nap.... under my little mum’s bed at night-time, and sprawled across my big mum’s bed during the day. When I’m not sleeping, both mums play with me.... sometimes I go completely crazy, running back and forth like a mad thing, chasing a pencil or a ribbon ... but purring all the time: in fact, I purr quite a lot, as it makes my mums happy.... and if they’re happy, I’m happy.
I actually ventured outside too.... just the once.... I saw a bird and tried to catch it, but it flew away! For a moment I wasn’t quite sure how to get back in, but both my mums were there calling me, and I jumped back inside. It was all rather exciting.
My claws are looking good... as both my mums let me scratch at the sofa.... and just to amuse them, they sometimes copy me! Strange things these humans.
Come the evening, when things are getting quiet, I sit with my big mum for a fuss. Even if she’s still busy, she’ll play.... I like to try and catch the pen she’s using or sit on the keyboard of her computer. Then I’ll spend some time at the window. When it’s time for bed, all my big mum has to do is say “go to bed” and off I go.....
Love and purrs to all.
Lucky
January, 2007
I just have to add that my soppy human family didn't forget me this Christmas: they bought me two pressie..... and even wrapped them up..... Mind you, I had my eye on their Christmas dinner.... although, I wasn't so keen on those things called crackers: What a NOISE!!!!! Not as bad as New Years Eve mind..... now, that was VERY scary.... but my two human mums looked after me, and made sure I had plenty of hugs and tickles (not that that's any different from any other day.... they're always spoiling me).
I've also found a new place to hide. My "big mum" has a black cardboard box full of pens and stuff... with my black fur, once I'm curled up, nobody can see me.... that is, until I want them to ;-) I heard my human mums calling me, but I was soooooo cumfy, that I thought I'd give them a fright, just for a laugh..... they were so relieved when I finally popped my head up and meowed "here I am". They thought I might have run away (as if: it was cold outside - tehehe).
Happy 2007 to one and all.
Lucky
P.S. If you haven't already made one, may I suggest a New Years' Resolution?
How about giving up your wish for a kitten, and opting for a "9 Lives" moggie instead.
